After a few hours collecting grape samples . . . I'm beginning to ask 'Why did I plant some many different vines?'. 🫣 Won't get all the results done today but things are looking good, going by my #Stickyhands. #countdowntoharvest #crouchvalley #essex #grapes #samples

Hmm . . . these grapes are beginning to look quite ripe. Think it is time to start some bird protection. 🤔 Audible Scarer for now, maybe put up a kite later. #vineyardlife #cropprotection #crouchvalley #scareybirds #getoffmygrapes #essexvineyard

Still Pinot update @DanburyRidge

#veraison is moving at a cracking rate this year. Could it be earlier than 2018? In the #CrouchValley, #Probably. 😉 1st pic & 2nd pic of #PinotGris 12 days ago & today . . . tasting good. 😋 #essexvineyard #crouchvalleyregion #bringmesunshine #soonbepicking

Another long day on the #familyfarm & still very hot out there. Time to try another trial bottle of our #sparkling Pinot Noir. Think we are getting there, 18 months on the lees, tasting smooth and blackcurranty. I think we now have a plan to produce a larger volume. #winetrials

Here’s Andy our Vineyard Manager with another vineyard diary - this time ‘canopy management’… Thanks Andy! Questions? Fire away! #EnglishWine #Essex #CrouchValley #WineSocial #DrinkLocal #EastAnglia #Purleigh #LeafStripping #CanopyManagement #EnglishVineyard

Where is the best place to grow grapes in England? Some say the Downs or the Chilterns, with their chalky slopes. Some say Kent! But many are starting to quietly say “Essex” and, in particular, the Crouch Valley. Take a look at why… youtu.be/UkW9HYK8Ors #EnglishWineWeek
