Grief is something else. One minute you feel okay and even hopeful, and the next you’re on the verge of a breakdown.

I hope I’m enough for my little brothers. I can never replace our mother, but I pray they see how hard I’m trying to show up for them and hold things together.

Being the eldest daughter is no joke, especially after losing your mother. I’ve come to appreciate her even more now that I’ve stepped fully into the role of “deputy mother” in her absence. I pray she gives me the strength I need not to let my little brothers down.
