@Crunchicee @greengrandma5 @AngieJacks57924 @PatrickC1995 Being honest about reality *is* miserable. My ideal world scraps the wage system entirely. We coordinate directly to create what we need and share it freely. The forced divide between work and daily life dissolves. Our time, energy, and activity finally belong to us.

One of the biggest mental blocks of the left is their inability to think about value creation in any way other than manual labor. A good counter-example is the professional athlete, or pop-star. Who did Tayler Swift exploit to become a billionaire?

No one “earns” a billion dollars. No one can work a billion times harder than anyone else. There is no good, ethical, or righteous billionaire. That kind of wealth can only be accumulated through the exploitation of the working class. No exceptions.

@greengrandma5 @AngieJacks57924 @Crunchicee @PatrickC1995 Scandinavia just bought nicer padding for the cage. Those safety nets are fully subsidized by the exact same global sweatshops we were just talking about. A slightly softer daily grind still treats human life as a disposable commodity to be consumed.

@Spiralhetre @PatrickC1995 There is value creation and value capture. The labourers create the product while the branding concentrates the demand and profit of the product. Saying human effort is completely worthless without a brand is just as reductive as ignoring the value produced by the labourers.

@Crunchicee @PatrickC1995 You just proved my point. Under capitalism, human effort is completely worthless unless a boss or a "brand" can squeeze a profit out of it. Workers have to build her empire because capital controls their means of survival. That dependency is the exploitation.

@Spiralhetre @PatrickC1995 There is some truth to your statement but you’re still misunderstanding the concept of a brand. The merchandise is sold at higher margins because it has her branding over it, the stadiums are sold out because of her as well. Without her their labor is worth less by your logic.

@PatrickC1995 Swift is a walking multinational corporation. Her wealth comes from thousands of invisible wage earners who sew the merchandise, construct the stadium sets, and maintain the streaming servers. You are falling for a brand image and ignoring a vast global supply chain.
