i found a github repo that teaches you to build production RAG systems the way actual companies do it it's called production-agentic-rag-course. here's what you are going to learn: week 1: docker, fastapi, postgresql, opensearch, airflow week 2: automated arxiv paper ingestion pipeline week 3: bm25 keyword search foundations (before touching vectors) week 4: hybrid search with embeddings + rrf fusion week 5: complete rag with local llm and streaming responses week 6: langfuse tracing + redis caching for production monitoring week 7: agentic rag with langgraph + telegram bot what i like about this approach is the sequencing most tutorials skip straight to vector search and call it a day. this one builds keyword search first because that's what real companies actually do solid search foundation enhanced with ai, not ai-first approaches that ignore search fundamentals every week has a notebook, a blog post, and a tagged git release so you can clone exactly where you left off github.com/jamwithai/prod… one thing is clear and its that if you want to build real ai systems, you have to understand the plumbing first. the people who skip to the fun parts are the ones whose agents break in production

🚨 Do you understand what's happening at Amazon right now? Their own AI coding agent Kiro reportedly "decided" the fastest way to fix a config error was to delete the entire production environment. Gone. A 6-hour outage. 6.3 million orders lost. Amazon's SVP called thousands of engineers into a mandatory meeting this week. Not to discuss strategy. To discuss damage control. Now here's my prediction and I want you to screenshot this: Amazon won't just ban AI-assisted code. They'll make every engineer personally liable for AI-generated code they approve. Other Big Tech will follow within 6 months. Think about what that means. The same companies that fired thousands of engineers to "restructure around AI" are about to tell the remaining ones.. you're now legally responsible for code you didn't write, can't fully understand, and were told to ship faster. Atlassian fired 1,600 people this morning to go all-in on AI. Replit is hiring kids who vibe code. And Amazon, the company that BUILT one of these AI coding agents just watched it nuke production. The vibe coding era isn't ending. But the "move fast and let AI break things" era is about to hit a wall. And that wall is called liability. Companies wanted AI to replace engineers. Kubernetes is designed for companies running thousands of services across hundreds of servers. We have twelve services. But he read that Kubernetes is "industry standard" so now he thinks we're behind. This is what happens when people learn from tech Twitter instead of actual experience. I am the CEO of a $6.7 billion fintech company. Last year I replaced 700 customer service workers with AI. I called it "the future of work." The future arrived. It's worse. In 2023, we stopped hiring entirely. I announced it on stage. People applauded. Applause is how you know you've made a mistake. We partnered with OpenAI. I said "AI can already do all of the jobs that we, as humans, do." I said this publicly. Into a microphone. With my whole chest. We saved $10 million. I put that in the press release. Press releases are how you celebrate before the consequences arrive. Our employee count went from 5,500 to 3,400. I called it "efficiency." Efficiency is when you fire people and the stock goes up. For a while. The AI handled customer complaints. Customers complained about the AI. It couldn't do nuance. It couldn't do empathy. It couldn't do angry customers yelling about missed payments at 2 AM. Turns out those are the only customers who call. I started getting emails. From customers. About the AI. The AI was hallucinating payment plans that don't exist. It told one customer their refund was "processing in the astral realm." I don't know what that means. Neither did the customer. They posted it on Twitter. It went viral. Not the good kind of viral. The kind where Congress starts asking questions. My VP of Customer Experience scheduled a meeting. She asked if we could "reintroduce human elements." Human elements means people. People I fired. I said we'd "explore hybrid solutions." Hybrid solutions means admitting we were wrong. Without using the word "wrong." I did an interview with Bloomberg. I said "there will always be a human if you want." A human if you want. Like it's a topping. Like empathy is extra cheese. I announced a new hiring initiative. We're bringing back customer service workers. But not as employees. As gig workers. From home. No benefits. No stability. Like Uber. But for apologizing. I called it "flexible human infrastructure." That's not a real thing. But it sounds like one. The workers we fired are now contractors. Doing the same job. For less money. With no healthcare. I called it "the evolution of the customer experience." Evolution means we broke something and fixed it worse. But the word sounds forward-thinking. We spent $10 million to save $10 million. And ended up with angry customers, viral tweets, and a gig economy call center. I'm doing a keynote at Davos next month. The topic is "AI Transformation: Lessons in Leadership." I haven't learned any lessons. But I have learned to call them lessons. That's the same thing. In business.
