I ran this Generalized Least Squares model for Bitcoin regression in December 2024.
Auto-correlation does not invalidate the power law, the FGLS model corrects for that has a good D-W statistic that shows that and basically gives the same power law slope as a Quantile Regression (median).
Auto-correlation for something adhering to a power law just means it keeps going up long term, Laura.
And next year's value on this date is correlated to this year and has an expected higher value by:
[(T+1)/T]^k -1 percent, where k ~ 5.8 and T is the current age of ~ 17.2 years.
"A rocket trajectory has very strong positive autocorrelation, because it is a smooth, highly constrained dynamical path rather than a noisy random process."

Binance has announced it will cease trading and delist all spot trading pairs for several cryptocurrencies on April 1, 2026, at 11. In early stage PoW networks, more coins mined could mean more potential sell pressure; i.e. higher emission increases the amnt of new supply entering the market, which may contribute to greater volatility.
