Behold the emberOne: a 100W hashboard developed by the 256 Foundation as its first project. EmberOne is a modular hashboard designed to work with a separate control board, featuring a wide input voltage range of 12-24VDC and a USB-C port for linking to the control board. The hashboard incorporates 12 BM1362 ASIC chips, selected for their cost-effectiveness at approximately $1 each. These chips offer a significant price advantage over the BM1370 (Gamma) chips, which can cost up to $50 for a single chip, while delivering comparable performance—each BM1362 chip achieves around 300 GH/s. This configuration allows emberOne to achieve the same hashrate as setups with BM1370 chips at a much lower cost with just a few more chips added to the hashboard. The initial target hashrate for emberOne is 3.6 TH/s. Additionally, the 256 Foundation is developing a Linux-based control board called Libra to pair with the hashboard.
