The video has over 150k+ views btw😢 was so sad today. Any team needs to have a mix of technicians and athletes in its frontline. A top team has an imperative to win, so they spend more time attacking. This means that they need slightly more technicians than athletes. Think of 22/23 Arsenal where only Martinelli and Nketiah were the athletes. Or PSG where only Barcola is the athlete. Or City where only Haaland is the athlete. In other words, for the 6 attackers you need across a front 3, you should aim for about 2 athletes & 4 technicians. Why is this so? Because of injuries. If you have injuries, because you have more technicians than athletes, you can still play dominant football. However, if you have only athletes available, you get what is happening at Arsenal where Gyokeres, Madueke and Martinelli all have to play. Had Arsenal not signed Gyokeres but an Ekitike, it would still be somewhat balanced and they can play winning football. However, they went for a 3/3 split for technicians and athletes. And one of their technicians was Trossard who is 39 years old. Trossard unable to effectively contribute due to his age is a Failure Point. Gyokeres is a Failure Point. Now, add the Saka injury in and you get the decline.
