I think many of us would benefit from watching more pilot episodes from kids shows. Degrassi The Next Generation, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, all have first episodes that stuck with me. Amazing writing, captivating plots, & a sincerity & quirkiness that I miss on modern television shows

when i was in highschool this boy kept making fun of my voice in class like every time i spoke he’d mimic me and everyone would laugh i tried to ignore it but my best friend didn’t next time he did it she turned around slowly and went “do it again.” he laughed and did it louder she stood up, looked him dead in the eyes and said “it’s crazy how you’re obsessed with her voice when yours sounds like a dying mosquito with commitment issues.” the class went silent he never spoke to me again but she smiled like she’d been waiting her whole life for that moment
