I wouldn’t be surprised if BlackRock starts selling bitcoin due to the chain of events happening rn BlackRock's $26B private credit fund just gated withdrawals for the first time ever. investors wanted $1.2B back. they got $620M. 48% were blocked. Blackstone had to inject $400M of its own cash after record redemptions. Blue Owl permanently halted withdrawals and started issuing IOUs. this is a $1.8T market cracking at the same time. BlackRock stock dropped 7% in one day.. every major alt asset manager.. KKR, Apollo, Carlyle, Ares, TPG all dropped 5-7% on the same day. when investors can't get money out of private credit funds, they don't just sit there. they sell whatever IS liquid to raise cash. and what's the most liquid thing BlackRock offers? IBIT. the Bitcoin ETF. BlackRock's IBIT holds 764,000 BTC. at current prices that's roughly $52B in bitcoin sitting inside one product managed by a firm whose private credit division is now in crisis mode. and the data says it's not a theory anymore.. 👀 → IBIT shed 42,000 BTC from its peak holdings of 806,000 → $2.1 BILLION in outflows from IBIT alone in 5 weeks → total bitcoin ETF outflows hit $4.5B in 2026 → ETF AUM dropped from $170B peak to ~$85B → BlackRock was the LARGEST seller in the most recent week.. $303M in net outflows from IBIT in a single week the average cost basis for ETF holders is $79,000. bitcoin is at $68,000. that means the average institutional ETF investor is sitting on an 14% unrealized loss. and 45% of all circulating bitcoin supply is now held at a loss. and look where it gets dangerous: → private credit investors can't withdraw → they panic → they sell liquid assets (stocks, ETFs) to raise cash → IBIT outflows accelerate → BlackRock sells BTC on the open market → BTC price drops → more ETF holders go underwater → underwater holders panic sell → more outflows → more BTC sold → price drops more → loop continues this is the same mechanic that crashed FTX and Terra Luna. liquidity spiral. the only difference is the numbers are 100x bigger..
