This time around I hope people learn that trading and investing are different and act accordingly If you recognise that altcoins only did better than Bitcoin if you have to time the bottom and top then its not investing - its day trading Day trading is fine but then you have to base it on TA An if you are investing you have to structurally consider bad outcomes They both have their own ways in which you manage your downside and upside TA uses stop loss/targets/bankroll management, investing uses asymmetry, portfolio structure and allocation % When you mix the 2 together you end up losing the benefit and only gaining the weakness If you dont know when you are going to buy or when you are going to sell then the way they talk is common "I rountripped" "I should have bought/sold earlier" etc BTW this is not about not seeing drawdowns etc its just that when you dont know what you are doing then the abovs is how one thinks In opposite someone who plans to hold BTC 10 yrs doesnt think of a drop as a roundtrip as their goal was not to sell in between anyway You have to define what you do in terms of the outcomes both good and bad to understand the range of outcomes possible and be ok with that upfront Ask yourself this time if you can accept bad returns to loss upfront rather than think you can only win - thats minimum stakes required
