I will say this, however. Often the people around us make us feel exactly the way he is describing. I've felt it many times myself. But it's important to distinguish between feelings that are transient, and the true state of another's heart. It's common to all humans, including Christ, to feel taken advantage of. That does not disqualify those around us from being capable of true love.

Okay, since you asked. I believe you're wrong. At least this isn't true in my case. My wife, my father, my kids, and everyone around me are capable of extreme selfishness, just like me. That's why we need a savior in Jesus Christ. But they do love me, and have displayed that love many times. This mentality that you're espousing is not healthy. If this is genuinely true for you, I am deeply sorry, and I pray that Christ would come into the hearts of you, and all around you and change this. Humanity is capable, and often commits deep evil, but through Gods sovereign grace, humans can also show extreme kindness, and love. Lord bless you, and yours.
