It is a bit disturbing to realize that 'development' to most Africans means skyscrapers, treeless, brutal, skylines, government metering everything from power to water. Because our minds have been poisoned, our definitions of success are not ours. African, know thyself!

To save yourself from facing the stark reality that the world is dark. It's like singing loudly in the dark to mask your fear after a nasty horror movie These people have chosen the other basest kind of interaction with knowledge perhaps because to know too much is to die.

Stupendous ignorance? Or rage bait? I cannot decide...

@magattew With rare exceptions, the countries colonized by Europe were actually unprofitable. More was spent on building up their infrastructure and creating cities than was earned from exports.

It's better to fix Nigeria at all costs, than to go abroad and experience the nonsense in the comments of this post. Please, e jo, let's fix our continent. The ignominy of being suspects by default, being told one doesn't belong is too much.

It is with an extreme heavy heart that I have come to the decision to share this information. Yesterday, on the 25/05/2026, my 12‑year‑old son was stopped, handcuffed, and searched by a Kent Police officer in Sevenoaks after briefly touching and playing with a loose stop sign.

Since it’s “egg season”… here’s a whole basket 🥚 A 17-year-old male was rushed to the emergency department with acute onset severe scrotal pain and swelling lasting 18 hours. Emergency surgery was performed for suspected testicular torsion and was successfully managed with detorsion. However, what was found intraoperatively was far more unexpected than anticipated. Both testes were indeed torsed, but there were also simply too many of them. Bilaterally. Instead of one testis on each side, the patient had a double set. One of the left-sided testes was somewhat atrophic and abnormal, but still an unexpected “bonus.” A true “embarrassment of riches.” What would you call this intraoperative finding?👀

I broke a mug yesterday in my kitchen and I just swept it up and kept it moving. And I wonder why our parents made so much fuss about breaking things when we were growing up.

Try breaking one mug every week or so. Then climb the TV & break it. Put scissors to your sofa, tear it. Write on your car with a nail. Spill water on the tiles, slip and fall. Fix all these things and keep it moving. Repeat it every week. Or picture it x 2 children.

@KaberiaCommoner This trope is dangerous! Your inability to correctly link cause and effect looks disturbingly intentional. Singling out corruption as the cause of African 'underdevelopment' is like blaming truancy as the reason a child from a disturbed background is failing at school.

Britain colonized Singapore. Singapore is now richer than Britain. Africans are responsible for their own suffering.

@nnamdiobiii I've said it b4 that our people's minds have been so tampered with that anything with a plot more complx than Baby Shark automatically triggers incredulity, denial or misplaced mirth. They either say it's a lie or make jokes with it. It's a defense mechanism against cogitation

Anything Nigerians don't understand, they call conspiracy theory. They don't take time to understand context. They will never attempt to read. They will reject every form of evidence. To change Nigeria go hard o

I flew from Tanzania and landed at Arlanda International Airport, then took a train 🚅 to Falun, Sweden, to pursue a Master's Degree in African Studies at Dalarna University… I learned more about Africa from a Western perspective, and one thing I can tell you: this book will mislead you. It's a dead book. The main problem with African development is not colonisation; the main issue is what happens after colonisation and the incompetence of African leaders with no vision, who fall into foolish political ideologies and alliances instead of focusing on building their countries, a case study of Singapore under Lee Kuan Yew. It's not a must-read book. The only advice I have for any African youth is to use their smartphones and laptops to study how Lee managed to develop Singapore from rice paddies into a wealthy nation.

@DavidHundeyin They hate that Africans are starting to wake up & they just want to aggressively push narratives that will engender self hate & self harm. There's strong evidence that it's one of the reasons why Elon bought Twitter: to have the power to push damaging ideas on emergent schools..

Stop paying attention to that lady. She works for foreign intelligence. Despite her cover story being the alleged owner of some vague business in Senegal that nobody has ever heard of, she's on first name terms with every major tech CEO and defense contractor in America, and she's married to one of those weird Libertarian culture war finance bros. Also she has lived and worked in Israel. She's not ignorant or stupid - she's dangerous. Stop arguing with dangerous people whose clear and obvious mission is ideological subversion. Block and shun aggressively!
Dwayne Wong@DOmowale

In his book, Walter Rodney pointed out that colonialism deliberately restricted local trade and industry in Africa. To suggest that Walter Rodney was wrong while blaming Africa's poverty on the very policies which he wrote about just exposes the fact that Magatte Wade never actually read "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa".

@Israel70492823 Who told you he can't read. Let me tell you something: The narrative is more powerful than the fact/truth. All these wicked people want is to create a narrative strong enough to compete with reality It doesn't have to be true; it just has to tug at the right emotional strings

@n6oflife6 @OmoShonubi99 For context: A plot of land in Eko Atlantic City costs btw $1.3M - $2.6M, & a 1 bedroom aprt. costs about ₦20M - ₦30M/yr. These prices rival some of the most expensive neighbourhoods & properties in Europe. So he just changed countries but the conditions remained the same.
