More than likely this is a forced function of debt servicing. Given their fleet size of 38.5EH and lets say their average hashrate these days are 200th at 3200w ; their monthly bill would be 31-day month: 458,304,000 kWh → $18.33M; 28-day month: 413,952,000 kWh → $16.56M if at 0.04c all in kw; that's not including facilities, overhead, network, salaries etc. I would assume their burn-rate is somewhere north of 24-27m a month and they are probably pretty close to running negative with the current difficulty and their PubCo overhead cost. This is probably partially for debt service paydown (kill some of the higher interest debt and just reduce the risk for a greater drawdown.
