I woke up in a bizarre way—no longer human, but a blobfish! The famously ugly, saggy-faced fish. "Is this a joke?" I thought, but it was real.
I tried finding a mirror, but there weren’t any underwater. Not that it mattered—I knew my unfortunate fate. Exploring the ocean floor, I met a squid that pitied me and a crab that sighed in sympathy. My morale was at rock bottom.
Seeing glowing jellyfish, I approached them for fun, but they swam away. "Looking at your face depresses me!" one shouted. That stung. I then realized I couldn’t even swim properly. I just flopped around, utterly useless.
A shark approached—was this the end? Nope. "Your face killed my appetite," he said. That’s when it hit me—my looks were a survival advantage!
With nothing better to do, I started a therapy group for sad sea creatures. A lonely starfish, a shock-giving stingray, and a depressed oyster joined in. "I’m a blobfish," I said. Silence. They all hugged me, acknowledging my superior misery.
Rumors spread—"The blobfish is a therapist!" Even octopuses came for advice. "My girlfriend left me!" one cried. "At least you can shape-shift," I replied.
Suddenly, I transformed back into a human. Ecstatic, I ran to the mirror. But I missed my underwater friends. Maybe being a blobfish wasn’t so bad after all. "No matter what, be yourself and enjoy it!"
