GM☕️ I am still long on $BTC Is this drawdown a continuation of ranging/bearish conditions? Lets look at it from multiple angles and come to a conclusion: Main system: - Dynamic CryptoSwing - BTC is still long. This is what I allocate 50% of my capital to. - After talks with high-level individuals they stated that whipsaw was very likely -> which is why I changed the BTC strat to a quality driven system - This strategy has a 74.58% profitable rate and has been robustness tested far beyond the regular tests - Shown by the top left quadrant Market regime: - We have flipped from bullish trending to ranging according to both my market regime indicators - This supports the commonality in views that myself and my previous colleagues have about the conditions to come (chop) - Expect a range or chop in a direction (before a sustained trend) for at least 2 weeks - Shown by the bottom left quadrant BTC Dominance: - BTC dominance is still in a positive trend as alts have fallen harder than BTC in this recent move down - Typically you want to see BTC showing strength compared to the rest of the crypto market before a trend develops to the upside as all trend that have been sustainable have been led by BTC at first and then explosions in alts - Shown by the top right quadrant US Dollar: - Entered a positive trend according to most trend indicators - USD usually has a negative relationship with cryptocurrencies - This supports the choppy market conditions hypothesis - Shown by the bottom right quadrant Overall, we are still long but the ranging signal and the dollar rising in strength (and potentially rising to the top of its range) could signal weakness and and environment where BTC builds some strength before deciding its trend direction. GM☕️ One of the RS systems remains marginally bullish, while Dynamic CryptoSwing - $BTC is still long. At the moment, none of my mean reversion indicators are suggesting true oversold conditions yet: AMDS -> currently around the -1SD region, with the maximum oversold zone sitting closer to $73.7k SPO -> approaching the lower bound, but not fully there yet FSVZO -> still showing a wide red band, suggesting downside momentum may continue slightly further From a liquidation perspective, most short-term downside clusters have now been taken out. What remains now is more of a battle between the larger long-term liquidity zones, where upside still currently holds proximity advantage. BTC 1D and 1W funding rates remain positive and above average, which suggests this pullback may not be completely finished yet. As mentioned in previous posts, this area was always considered high risk due to the liquidation structure. I was also warned by previous colleagues about the probability of increased whipsaw in the upcoming environment, which is one of the reasons why the faster BTC system was adjusted to focus more on signal quality rather than sensitivity and speed. The goal is to avoid unnecessary flip-flopping during unstable conditions. We have experienced many statistically similar phases in the past. This is all part of the distribution of returns that the systems were designed around. If price were to move towards the lower end of the range, that is completely fine as well as we have systems specifically built to take advantage of those environments too. What has changed and why: I have shifted the focus of the Dynamic BTC strategy more toward signal quality rather than speed following discussions with several high-level individuals I currently work with and have previously worked with in institutional environments. The upcoming market environment is highly likely to be one characterised by increased whipsaw and unstable directional movement. Because of this, the strategy now prioritises robustness, confirmation, and higher-quality signals over maximum sensitivity and trade frequency. The goal is to remain on the correct side of major moves while reducing exposure to unnecessary market noise. This can already be seen in the data: -> Number of trades reduced from 92 to 60 -> Profitable trade percentage increased from 63.74% to 74.58% -> Profit factor increased from 2.73 to 5.57 You will likely notice a decrease in Sharpe and Sortino ratios, alongside a slight increase in maximum drawdown. This is a deliberate trade-off. In the current environment, survivability and consistency are more important than maximising short-term efficiency metrics. However, longer term is now biased to the upside since the majority of liquidations are taken out. GM Gs, Market has been performing like absolute shit last couple of days, many people caught the Sui pump. Which i'm sure you all know has since retraced its entire candle, Eventually it won't retrace. Just have to be patient you never know what the market is capable of. GM / GE I present to you Dynamic CryptoSwing - $SOL: The improvements are clear: -> Overall equity growth increased from 147,341 to 308,840 since Apr 2020 (the first candle on the chart) -> Sortino ratio increased from 4.41 to 5.23 -> Sharpe ratio increased from 2.44 to 2.74 -> Profit Factor increased from 2.58 to 4.54 -> % profitable increased from 61.9% to 83.33% -> Omega ratio increased from 1.49 to 1.71 Also, robustness has increased significantly from an already strong position. What has changed? I have found a way to better determine trend strength using institutional-style techniques. I cannot go into the exact details due to NDA restrictions related to my hedge fund involvement, but the impact is substantial. You will now see pink profit-taking arrows on the chart. The first pink arrow says “Cash 50%”. This means the strategy takes profit on 50% of the position. The second pink arrow says “Cash 100%”. This means the strategy closes the entire remaining position. This is based on technical details, not randomly picked data. The second arrow may not always appear. It only appears if the market continues far enough for the next profit-taking condition to trigger. This upgrade improves performance through two main channels: - Range evaluation and ATR-based machine-learning filtering - Trend-following exploitation, especially on the short side Asset markets are naturally biased upward over the long run, which means downside moves often require a more selective and protective mechanism. This is why you may notice more profit-taking on short positions in the new strategy. That said, this is not only beneficial for shorts. The filter improves safety detection and probability assessment across both long and short conditions, with the largest impact currently appearing on the short side.
