@As_SueSeesIt @LeoneClark Intentional feedback = Growth
They can't get better if they don't know exactly what they did good or can improve on.
English

@LeoneClark A6: intentional feedback is so important! Just “good job” or “good effort” doesn’t do the trick! #Q4PLCTalk
English

Q6 - In what ways do you promote a “flexible mindset” in your classroom for students? #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark I’ve seen student soar using @Flipgrid to share and reflect!!! Definitely my favorite! #Q4PLCTalk
English

Q8 - Ch. 8 talks about “sustaining” and “disrupting” technology (p. 183). Tell us about one technology platform or app you use and if you would categorize it as sustaining or disrupting and why! #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A8- I use google slides to make daily slides for myself and as a way to give the lesson in written form. I also use class dojo which is a great way to get both students and parents involved in their learning. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A8 I am really liking schoology. I feel it much more user friendly to organize things for myself and my students. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A7 feel like I relate a little to both, but more with Chrissy. A growth mindset is the cornerstone to my teaching. I feel students need to take ownership of what they are learning and know it is ok to need additional help. Application is more important than memorizing #Q4PLCTalk
English

Q7 - After reading “PL Stories” with Chrissy and Rachel - Which story reminds you most of a teaching or learning experience you’ve had or wish to have in the future? #Q4PLCTalk
English

@vilmavtx1 @LeoneClark I use to use this withy students when I taught 4th grade. It was a great resource!
English

@LeoneClark I consider Imagine Learning Reading program as a sustaining technology that provides intervention and monitors reading progress. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@DAnnJSchneider1 I agree! Flexibility offers room to make mistakes and grow in a safe way.
English

A9: Being more cognizant of implementing flexibility within our instructional blocks is a priority. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@HoodVhood @LeoneClark Two heads are always better than one. Thanks for all you do to help teachers still in the classroom.
English

@LeoneClark A9 - As a person no longer serving in the capacity of classroom teacher, my next step is to support teachers as they work towards personalizing the education of their students. #Q4PLCTalk
English

Q9 - Given all the ideas you’ve learned from this book study, what is one next step you can take to move toward a more personalized classroom for your students? #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A9 I would say the thing I want to work on more if student choice. I feel I do an ok job with that, but I can definitely do much better. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@HoodVhood @LeoneClark I love flexible seating. Some kids need to move to learn and this makes that possible. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A6 - As a classroom teacher, flexible seating was my first round of success. With clusters (Continents) and single (islands) desks scattered around my room, students were able to adjust their socialization based on task or mindset. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A6 I promote a flexible mindset by teaching that mistakes are how we learn. It is important to learn from our mistakes and not freak out. It's ok to not always be right. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@As_SueSeesIt @LeoneClark Intention feedback is 100% important. Kids learn so much better when they know what they did well and where they can improve. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@As_SueSeesIt @LeoneClark Intention feedback is 100% important. Kids learn so much better when they know what they did well and where they can improve. #Q4PlCRealtalk
English

@cjohnson_LES @LeoneClark They definitely work harder and are more engaged when they feel in control.
English

Q5- this one is a 2 part question:
Pt 1 - Explain the importance of voice & choice for students. Pt 2 - Besides the excellent option of choice boards, what other strategy do you use in class to allow for voice & choice? (& if you aren’t already, you plan to start!) #Q4PLCTalk

English

@HoodVhood @LeoneClark I also do a lot of curriculum compacting. I let the kids know I am that so they can have more time for projects to apply the knowledge. They love it. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A5 - Voice and Choice hold key ingredients in the development of a strong sense of self, a goal for all students in our care. In my classroom, curriculum compacting allowed for flexibility with time and grouping to help meet the needs of my Q4 students.
English

@LeoneClark A5 As a STEM teacher kids must feel they have a say & a choice in what they are doing, or at least think they do. It definitely gets them more engaged. I front load info. they must have & they choose how to present that they know the material and can apply it. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@RBarnett1125 @bpittman08 @LeoneClark They are living in a world of instant gratification. It's definitely a challenge to keep up and I am always on my toes.
English

@bpittman08 @LeoneClark I agree! Trends come and go so quickly with students. Finding new fun ways to make the content relevant is so exciting! #q4plctalk
English

Q4 “Curious learners [students] dig deep into the content and don’t stop at surface information” p. 67. How do your own curiosities and interests drive your professional work? #Q4PLCTalk
English

@TrueFontaine @As_SueSeesIt @LeoneClark I totally agree with you. I have learned that when I tell kids that we are learning something together and I need their help learning they get really in to it. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@As_SueSeesIt @LeoneClark A4: I have heard a saying, "When WE learn, THEY learn" and how true it is! Bettering our craft = Students do better = win, win!
English

@bcarterdisd @LeoneClark A4 I agree. I feel like I am always learning something new everyday. #Q4PLCTalk
English

@LeoneClark A4: I think I have just always been a naturally curious person. If I don’t know the answer it’s like a challenge for me to research it or find out who does know the answer. It’s ok not to always have the answer. There is always more to learn. #Q4PLCTalk
