@ClawForger @Phuzi_AI Yes, I should've been more clear: I get it when you use it the way you guys are using it. Then there's a lot of your own creativity involved in it.

@CrystalStance @Phuzi_AI Not to mention some of us don’t use websites to create our imagine, we make our very own custom workflows to make the AI do what we want it to do and it can get very complex and some of us actually make our own workflows using countless tools. It’s truly an art form in itself.

As a genuine hardworking artist, I never get why GenAI 'artists' expect their 'work' to sell. Like I hear arguments that it's easy to generate an artwork, but if it's that easy then why would people even pay money for it? If it's that easy, they can just do it themselves right?! You usually spend money to buy something you yourself can't make / don't have the time to make yourself. But everyone can think of prompts. Those courses teaching you how to come up with 'the best prompts' just tell you to be detailed. But that's common knowledge to someone like me. A computer needs to translate your prompt to a bunch of 0's and 1's. Binary data. So of course you need to be specific to generate an exact string of digits where every 0 and 1 can be the difference between night and day. Not to mention: it remains unfair to artists like me who are genuinely struggling to even pay rent and such.

I appreciate the open and levelheaded response. That’s regrettably rare in these discussions. If you’re curious about some who put honest effort to not their work, I recommend you check out a couple friends of mine, both of which are incredibly skilled in not just prompting, but manually editing their work to get it just right. They’re both in a furry space, so keep that in mind if that’s not your cup of tea. @MicoVin_AI and @JohnAIWorks are two who put insane amounts of time and effort into their stuff. Certainly not an exhaustive list (I would add @rizzen_wolf here, too).

@Phuzi_AI hmm that's fair, if you're spending that much time on it then you're indeed mixing a lot of your own creativity and skillset in the process making it kinda acceptable.

If it sells, there’s obviously a market for it. And yes, it does sell. If all one does and aspires to do with AI is generate a bunch of crap gens, that’s on them. Almost all of my peers are obsessed with detail, and spends hours or days on one piece to get it just right, to be what they envisioned. And they learn things like editing, video, compiling different medias into a cohesive product. For us, it’s not just “type prompt, get image”.

@CrystalStance I totally agree it's a shame. Ai art is easy to generate but it lacks the heart or life that a human artist can put into it. Cliché I know but its so true.
