CSMCH Film Club invites you the screening of the short film 'FLYOVERDELHI (2005) & discussion on 'Film, Ethnography, and Creativity' with a special focus on urban development of Delhi in 2005 by @paulinquinseina, an image-making anthropologist, University of Antwerp, Belgium

Post-screening discussion will be with the directors of Tam-Bram cooking and a group of women and social work professionals Baljeet Yadav and Ayeshna Kalyan from Varitra Foundation, Haryana.

some corrections: Ananthamurthy, adapted, an outcast

The change which was made is the scene of cremating dead body of a outcast Brahmin by a Dalit woman and a Muslim man. This same scene triggered outrage and imposed a ban. The novel refers such ending but it was denied to play in the film. That's where novel differs from the film.

Two important decades, 1930s and 1970s of the 20th century have shaped Indian history of social change. The literature and creativity had their role in it. Samskara, a novel written by Ananthamurhty in 1965, was adopted it to make a film in 1970. The film was banned in Karnataka
