New Recognition !!!🚨 The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), through its circular dated 22 April 2026, has formally conferred CERTIFICATION authority upon #PractisingCompanySecretaries under the framework of the IFSCA (Listing) Regulations, 2024.

This recognition reflects the continuous efforts of the leadership of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) from introducing Certification courses for Members & Elective papers for students on #IFSCA, to engaging in series of official meetings with IFSCA officials.

Under this Framework: Every Issuer in the IFSC undertaking a Preferential Issue or Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) is required to place a 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 at the General Meeting.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in the Lok Sabha to reform the Companies Act, 2013 and LLPs framework. The Bill proposed that certain classes of companies may NO longer be required to appoint Auditors 🤯 #CorporateLawsBill2026

The Corporate Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 rejects a series of representations made by the ICSI regarding the Appointment and Removal of Secretarial Auditors under the Act. Accordingly, the provisions relating to the Appointment/Removal of Secretarial Auditors remain UNCHANGED.

Surprisingly, there has been NO official response from ICSI, ICAI or ICMAI, nor from ICSI NCLT Practitioners Association (INPA), despite its mandate to safeguard the rights and interests of PCS appearing before NCLT. #ICSI #NCLT

Over the years, #ICSI has made deadly efforts to empower its members to represent matters before NCLT and NCLAT through flagship initiatives like the Mega NCLT Conclave and formation of ICSI NCLT Practitioners Association to safeguard the interests of PCS appearing before NCLT.
