Yesterday we celebrated world social work day, not just as a team but as a full directorate across children’s at Redcar - what an amazing place to work , learn and grow ❤️

This morning we are joined by the fabulous Mandy Knight from our Families Together Team to share all about the freedom programme, Mandy this was wonderful and informative - thank you for sharing your knowledge with us

This morning we had the amazing Gill Collier from We Are With You talking everything about substance use, Gill is a fountain of knowledge & we all learnt a lot @WithYouRedcar

Last day of our practice week & a powerful morning with a session from our care experienced young people followed by VR headsets

Our practice week has continued …. Today one of our highlights was a workshop on reframing how we engage with children & families we work with

Today we kicked off our amazing practice week, we were joined by the inspirational Angela Frazer Wicks, we focused on relationships & networks & launched our domestic abuse toolkit …. What a day 💜

MacMillan Coffee Morning held this morning at the academy …. Thank you for those who came along and our wonderful team for baking and buying

Tuesday mornings are all about workshops and today our focus was on worry statements and safety goals …. Some lovely examples using kind and relationship led language

At the CSWA it’s not just about learning …. It’s about celebrating each other and enjoying being together and celebrating special times ….

We have spent the last 3 days on our Relationships First training ….Layering our learning with reflections,group supervision, the power of the language we use ,motivational interviewing and remembering that us as Social Workers are the tools -every interaction is an intervention

Today we have had workshops on the importance of Genograms and Ecomaps and completing these with both adults and children. We have also spent time on the power of language 💜

Yesterday and today we have introduced Group Supervision and had workshops on family led safety plans , confidentially & chronology’s and this afternoon is all about direct work and tools ….. learning, sharing and reflecting in our supportive and innovative academy
