That's even before they considered staff (c. 800 live on the island) and environmental costs! Why don't they put all their efforts into turbo-charging the backlog, hiring more borderforce staff, smashing UK trafficking gangs and setting up legal routes. Let's face it. They turn up expecting every entitlement. We give them free accommodation and subsidised food. Some even commit crimes while we fund them! They may pretend to integrate with us, but really they hate our culture and our laws. Put these Tory ministers on a barge.

I've been told by the Home Office that the Cedar Court Hotel will have its asylum occupancy more than DOUBLED from 148 to 306. This is on top of news a third asylum hotel is being forced on Wakefield. I've written to the Home Secretary with @denisemjeffery to demand a rethink!
