#Cuba agradece el gesto solidario de #Rusia de enviar un cargamento de combustible en circunstancias tan difíciles para el pueblo cubano, derivadas de un cerco energético. Rusia ejerce su derecho de exportar sus recursos, y Cuba el suyo a importar. Una vez más se hacen patentes las históricas y sólidas relaciones de hermandad y amistad entre ambos países.

João Pedro Stedile, a national leader of Brazil's Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), spoke at the graduation ceremony and recognized the value and the importance of Brazilian educator Paulo Freire and Cuban leader Fidel Castro in this achievement. Freire coined the "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" and helped shape the concept of popular education, and Fidel Castro led Cuba’s heroic effort to fight illiteracy in the very first year of the Revolution with the "Yes, I can" method, now used across the world.

Now the #US government is saying it has not taken any "punitive" action whatsoever against #Cuba. What is the economic blockade, if not a punitive action? What is the threat against any country that exports fuels to Cuba, if not a punitive action? What is the financial persecution of Cuban transactions in any country, the restrictions imposed on merchant vessels touching Cuban ports and the ban on US citizens' travels to Cuba, if not punitive actions? What is the purpose pursued by the selective and arbitrary lists, such as the list of State sponsors of terrorism, restricted entities and restricted accommodations? What are the abusive pressures exerted against Caribbean and Latin American governments that are forcing them to renounce their medical cooperation programs with Cuba with the intention of depriving the country of legitimate incomes, if not a purely punitive action?
