I know YouTube excess, but the lack of official video from their prime era in high DEF or 4K is a travesty. No acoustic album or proper live album either.

I never expect the band to ever make any of those Rolling Stone “Best 100…” lists & that’s fine; they’ve never spoken to that type of writer. But looking over the 100 best guitar solos & not see RS mentioned once was tough. If only they had promoted their legacy more.

@thescreendoor $799 for the last seat in the arena (before fee$) is not a great long term strategy? Shocked, I tell you, shocked! Seriously, though, someone in the planning stages should have brought this awful strategy up.

Today in Jovi History May 1, 2023 In celebration of New Jersey’s 35th anniversary, Jon Bon Jovi did a special for Bon Jovi Radio on Sirius XM talking about each track. Here’s the recap. JBJ was upset that NJ originally didn’t go Diamond and that it would be hard for NJ to follow the success that Slippery did. NJ was supposed to be a double album with over 30 songs written.. Sons of Beaches was the original title, but JBJ thought it was too cliche. New Jersey was supposed to show where the band was from and who they were! If he could change anything about the songs, he would change how high he sang 99 in the Shade. Lay Your Hands on Me: Wanted this to be the “kick off” to the album & something similar to the Elp’s Welcome to the Show. Dolly Parton also reached out about this song & loved it! Also a great song to come out on stage to! JBJ knew this song was an A list song from the start. Bad Medicine: Desmond was a huge help to this track. Took production in Tico’s garage. JBJ & Ted Nugent ran into Sam Kinison at a comedy store and that was Sam’s start to being in the Bad Medicine video! Born to be my Baby: Didn’t go much into this song during the chat Livin in Sin: JBJ wrote it for Dorthea in South California. Richie was meant to help write the song, but JBJ finished it before Richie got there. Went into the story to marrying Dorthea, “doing it for us”. Cab driver leaked the marriage news to the press and band found out by the news. Blood on Blood: Blood Brothers, a band that believed in each other. Band members quit their paths to start Bon Jovi because they believed in JBJ. Only they can understand the sacrifices and memories they made, that only they can share. He said if he could only pick one song to play live from this album, this would be it. Homebound Train: Wanted to say something that meant so much to the band. It was a riff rock song and a “let’s have fun” song. Wild is the Wind: Wants to do live more often (😁😁😁😁😁😁😁) Ride Cowboy Ride: Orignally a “lost song” and a hint to their cowboy ways. Stick to Your Guns: He was asked about current gun laws and how the lyrics lay different now.. he says no and talked about songs like Lower the Flag. I’ll Be There For You: Signature song. Beatle influenced. The message was I’ll be there for you no matter what. 99 in the Shade: Beatles feel intro and about the Jersey Shore. Wish he could do this live! Love for Sale: Trying to have fun with the band in the room. Sat in a circle one night and wrote/record it. reminding everyone they were a band trying to have fun! #BonJovi

@ShakeShakti There is no reason they had to split this up over two weeks, I think the total performance was maybe 90 minutes.

I’m glad we have recordings of these facts since they didn’t make the “definitive” Forever book (which tells me I believed Frank Sinatra was my friend)

@DrGuitar They are a fun, party band. Flesh and Blood showed some growth, but that was the end of the road. They have a solid ten or so tracks that are perfect pop rock and represent the time.

I think Poison gets a bad rap. I can understand not liking them. But to me this is what music is all about. Forgetting real life for a moment and just having a good time. Not wallowing in pity and despair. (Just my usual preference) Like I said last week, I think Poison plays Rock N Roll as it should be played. Just plain fun and entertaining. IMO
