Today, Chief Chris Settle and Staff had the honor of unveiling a painting in remembrance of Retired Master Police Officer Mike Grant. With the assistance of Retired MPO Grant’s son, Sergeant Eric Grant, the painting was unveiled in the Special Operations Section of the building where MPO Grant proudly served. Retired MPO Grant was a vital part of our team, proudly serving in the Community Policing Unit as a motor officer. His dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for others defined his career and touched countless lives. Retired MPO M. Grant passed away last October after a courageous battle with cancer. Even in his absence, his legacy continues to guide and inspire us. Thank you to Peggy Baker and Sarah Hartmann with Operation First Response(Picture 3) for donating this painting to our department as well as copies to Retired MPO Grant's family. #Culpeper

Congratulations to Master Police Officer C. Kelser on completing the first part of his General Instructor certification! He attended six days of training at Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Academy and now has to complete a brief apprenticeship. #PressRelease Culpeper Police Charge Adult Man with Solicitation of Children On 03/05/2026, an adult man was arrested as the result of an investigation into the solicitation of a child to produce child sexual abuse material. On 03/01/2026, the Culpeper Police Department received a report that three children had been contacted by an adult stranger via a popular messaging service. It was quickly determined that the communication was sexual in nature, prompting detectives assigned to the NOVA-DC ICAC Task Force to further investigate. Following an extensive review of available evidence, detectives learned that the suspect offered to pay three children under the age of 10 for sexually explicit videos and images. Not only did the suspect offer to pay with traditional currency, he also offered to pay them with “Robux,” an in-game currency for the popular online gaming platform, Roblox; commonly utilized by children. Detectives utilized extensive digital fingerprints to develop a suspect profile and verify the extent of the incident. As a result of this investigation, detectives charged Angel David Rubio Marin, 20, of Manassas, with seven felony counts of the Use of Communications Systems to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving Children. Additional charges may be obtained following further investigation. Within hours of obtaining warrants, the Manassas City Police Department located and arrested Rubio Marin. He was brought before a Magistrate and was held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center. Full release: tinyurl.com/urr2cccp
