Advertising the fact a school band instrument hasn't been serviced in >15 years really isn't a selling point. Unless it's been unused since then (and the photos appear to discount this possibility), it'll cost whoever buys it more than the $350 selling price to make it playable.

Just saw an ad for an alto sax for sale. The only detail given in the ad: it was reconditioned by a sax player & repair tech I knew well. Not sure if the seller mentioned this to imply it was recently serviced, but I am sure I attended said repair tech's funeral in October 2010.

Unless we get more ambulances/paramedics in my tiny community (given an aging population, dangerous industries, and substantial tourism), this change could result in having to wait hours for an ambulance to return from hospital before responding to an emergency in our community.

On the surface, this seems like a great idea – limiting paramedics to responding to emergencies in their own area – but both times I've called 911, the ambulance had to come from 55 km away because local ambulances were already responding to emergencies. cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…

Rising fuel costs are blamed for a lot, but it costs more per day for bottled water alone for 1 person today than it cost for a week's food during the OPEC embargo or the 1979 Iranian Revolution, and the proverbial shit has yet to make contact with the fan this time around.

In a bout of nostalgia, I was watching an episode of Emergency! from the year I was born. In one scene, the FD paramedics are buying groceries: two bags full, including two small roasts. The final bill: $9.03. That's less than the cost of a pound of stewing beef today.

Holt not exempt from cuts, NB voters remind. The premier's job is to try to make life better for New Brunswick residents, not worse. cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…

This is one of the most absurd claims I've ever read. How, exactly, can NB Power send electricity from a specific source to a select "premium customer" address without changing the source for every other address on the same grid/lines at the same time? cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…

What was the average wait time to see a specialist? What was the average wait time for an ambulance to reach you? These seem like far more pertinent issues than how many days of work I missed for health reasons or whether I was officially diagnosed with long COVID.

Just completed the @StatCan_eng health survey. I'm disappointed by the questions that AREN'T in the survey, like: How many hours have you spent in hospital waiting rooms in the last three months? How far do you have to travel to receive treatment or have a prescription filled?

It's crazy that this phenomenon has reached such proportions that Bell has made reusable work warning signs that specify the issues being repaired were caused by copper theft.

Correction: those figures were wrong; they only took into account their direct customers, not their indirect customers as well. The average is actually closer to $4300 per year on average (roughly $380 a month per customer).

"N.B. Power estimates it will lose, and customers will save, $22.4 million with a July 1 rate increase compared to one that begins April 1." Assuming my math is correct, that means they ALREADY charge NB customers $1.89B (>$4800/customer average) per year. cbc.ca/news/canada/ne…

@cnnbrk That's quite an accident. Kind of like accidentally falling on a knife blade three times in a row. Could it be that the USA failed to inform its allies of its (total lack of) plans, and got mistaken for enemy aircraft as a result?

Men like Trump and Netanyahu think killing the leader of a foreign nation will be enough to throw it into sufficient chaos to let them take over because they're megalomaniacal enough to believe their own nations would falter and fail without them. They're wrong on all counts.

@cnnbrk Has he actually imposed anything yet, or is he still just threatening it over social media? Early morning Truth Social rants are not legally binding on anybody.

@cnnbrk She's already been caught lying in her depositions, so nothing she says can be taken as truthful at this point. She's just dangling the bait that Trump wants most. This is the same schtick as Trump offering to resume funding that tunnel in exchange for putting his name on stuff.
