ChatGPT Image 2 generated this with a one sentence prompt. Granted I talk to it every day. Infographics were the major hurdle I thought was still far off. That threshold has now been crossed. This can have a lot of implications for your graphics and branding for your YouTube channel and the graphics for your streaming packages. At this point, not using these tools effectively is putting you at a 10x disadvantage. Large creators have a team and will be using these tools. You can choose to have neither, but it’s a gap that effort won’t be able to overcome. At some point, math and biology win. Only so many hours in the day and so much mental bandwidth. It took ChatGPT less than 2 minutes to generate and less than 3 minutes to reformat… I’m a talented graphic designer and wildly efficient… this is a minimum of 3-6 hours to get the same overall outcome if I use no templates and have to make some the vector assets in Illustrator by hand. Far longer if as a digital artist I have to make a vector or vexel image of myself from a photo reference. So let’s call it 10 hours to do what ChatGPT does in 2 minutes. At this point you can’t rationalize away the value of effort… The delta is thousands of dollars of time savings every time you use these tools… not doing so is a choice… You can dress it up morally if you feel better, but it’s not something you can justify productively or profitably.

The primary way in which “society fails people” is not being MILITANT about education… There should be a mandatory 255 day school year and we should abolish summer vacation. Saturday should be optional but open and available for tutoring, access to computer labs and the library and supervised club activities. Optional Pre-K School schedules mapped to work schedules, but have extended hours for after school programs and sports where they still have access to the school facilities, and that kids can stay after and use the library and computer lap after hours in a safe environment. Japan and Singapore figured this out. Run a third bus in the evenings so kids who stay late for the extra activities can get home safely. No phones during regular school hours. Align the curriculum to the reality of the world and not utopia. Make computer literacy, financial literacy and media immersion mandatory. Do not pass students who cannot read. Go back to hand written reports. Build a vocational track into high school. Make financial literacy a requirement for graduation. Mandatory school uniforms, but provide customization incentives by earning awards, badges and patches that can be worn for completing milestones and good citizenship. Implement a causal Friday for expression, but with strict dress code limitations. Implement a uniform system for the teachers as well. Mandatory gym class every semester. This is not complicated.

Peterson’s fall is tragic in every sense of the word He appeared on the scene while I was dealing with the death of my wife and his work was part of getting me back on my feet But his inability to truly commit to the Christian beliefs he so venerated reflected a larger failure of his rationalistic attempt to engage with faith His message of personal duty was powerful but his insistence on ignoring wider systemic issues is oddly reflective of his personal struggles Pray for Jordan, he has helped many of us and for all of his faults he deserves appreciation for what he has done

We figured out that dad has a psych med induced neurological injury, and has been suffering from akathisia. It’s been 6 years since any psych medications. Last summer his symptoms started, after a flare up likely induced by mold (CIRS) and stress. It was complicated by pneumonia and associated sepsis a month later. It’s been horrible. Neurological injuries from psych meds are far more common than people know. I made this video to explain what they are and what akathisia is because they’re not talked about enough, they’re misdiagnosed, nearly impossible to treat, and hidden by the pharmaceutical industry. I don’t plan on making another update about my dad, it stresses my family out, and myself, and there’s nothing more to say about it until things get better. I will be jumping up and down about psych med injury awareness from now on as it’s impacted my health as well, and is devastating. Prayers are appreciated still.

UGLY TRUTH ABOUT YOUTUBE YOU DON’T WANT TO HEAR… More Effort into Editing Won’t Save a Boring Topic, a Bad Unattractive Thumbnail, and/or Bland and Uninteresting Title. It’s hard for people emotionally invested in their editing and craftsmanship to hear that. But it’s worse for every small creator who listens to the narrative of “quality content” and “craft” all day long… Who struggle and still don’t get traction, because they are putting effort into the part of content that has nothing to do with whether someone clicks on a video in the first place. You would think this would be OBVIOUS… but it’s really not. And it’s absolutely killing small creators and destroying them because the NARRATIVE WAR, has been won by the people who have the luxury of making whatever they want… But forgot that they could NEVER have any of the luxury beliefs they preach about content if they had to work 40-50 hours a week and still make that content as a solo creator without a team anymore… And that is the quiet part that nobody is saying out loud. If your favorite YouTuber or even favorite Guru had to work from 9-5 and still make the same quality of high effort content they preach about… Could they realistically do it and put that out every single week without an editor and thumbnail artist and make livable money that would let them leave a regular job… The short answer is probably not. But the REALISTIC ADVICE around content creation for that solo working class creator is not going to be sexy and is not going to get 100,000 views and make the person giving it look like they know what they were doing. The Brutally Honest Truth is that sustained success, realistic advice and accessible audience growth, is NOT SEXY and mostly a lot of the not fun stuff really matters. Figuring out a Title for a video and getting into a 3rd to 5th grade reading level, and a topic that 10M-100M people care about… knowing you need to get 1-10% of them to click and watch… That’s NOT FUN… even for your favorite YouTuber… But it’s the only reason you know who they are… They made a video on a topic you and at least 1M or more people care about. And were able to package a title and thumbnail that got your attention and interest… Was relevant to you when you saw it (timing)… And when you clicked on it you didn’t feel bored, tricked and you didn’t experience Awful Audio or Video Quality. The editing likely was not even something you noticed consciously… This is why AUTHENTICITY is coming back to YouTube… OVER EDITING IS DEAD… And Big YouTubers Killed It… If your editing is your whole identity and you’re not focusing on Topic/Tile/Thumbnail/Timing Then it’s probably why YouTube feels like luck or a lottery.

My boy is 6’1, in insane shape (1:27 NYC half), good job, actually funny… and has completely tapped out of dating. Got his heart broken once a year ago and just never came back the same. Hasn’t been on a date or done anything in like 8 months. Now it’s just video games, bars with the boys, and “it is what it is.” He refuses to talk to women when out, says dating apps are “cooked” (not wrong), and basically just thinks women are the issue. I’ve tried to help several times, but what can we do?

@franmirabella I agree with you. It really boils down to, 1 year ago, if they did a beta and built around that feedback - I think it could have had a different ending.

I covered Highguard and took a beating -- and I'd do it again. The game went offline on March 12. Despite the drama, it's uncomplicated... I simply stand for gameplay discussion and talking about the details. It doesn't matter if it's a 50% or 100% rated game. I like in-depth impressions and reviews of final games. I never had some love affair with Highguard. I didn't say it would be successful, or the next great PVP shooter. I don't even like what free-to-play and live service has done to the industry. I also did not like The Game Awards trailer, regardless of its placement. It was just reporting and defending discussion. Saying: "let's see it, let's actually play it, then let's talk about it." And yet so many "gotcha griefers" just kept showing up in my replies, trying to show me the failing player numbers as if it would bother me. Regardless, I gave my first hands-on impressions once I sunk around 10 hours into it. It was clear it was rushed, early and needed work (as well as an identity). But it resonated with some, got mixed reviews, and was not the "absolute slop" that many wanted to boil it down to. I went on to play it for around 70 hours with a core group of old friends who wanted to team up and try something different. We had fun, but I rarely grind PVP shooters anyway. I wouldn't have played it much more without major improvements, additions and seasonal changes. Highguard failed for a lot of combined reasons, alongside the complexity of taking a lot of investment money to make an expensive game. But the real reason it failed is the simplest: it was an unfinished game, pushed out with fingers crossed. It needed another year, along with a lot more substance and testing.

@PlayHighguard I feel like if you did external testing (open/closed alphas/betas) during the development process, and had time to make significant changes and pivots, this game may not have failed all devs should consider external testing for high risk games like f2p live service models

Until game companies start putting gamers back in charge of gaming, it will never be fixed. Microsoft’s new CEO of Xbox has no game experience, ran AI, at MS, was COO of Instacart, and head of messaging at Meta. The problem is games require a game product focused CEO. This is Xbox’s John Scully moment, who was a Pepsi exec brought in to run Apple and who ousted Jobs. How’d that work out? Apple nearly died, and they had to beg Jobs to come back.
