UK ministers are discussing a major change to the TV licence that could require people with Netflix or Amazon Prime Video to pay the £180 yearly fee.
The plan aims to fund the BBC after the current agreement ends in 2027, as government sources want to retain the licence fee instead of switching to ads or full subscriptions.
Currently, no TV licence is needed for on-demand streaming like Netflix, only for live TV or BBC iPlayer.
The BBC says the old rules no longer reflect how people watch shows today, and the idea remains under discussion and is not yet law.

I remembered a moment before this war…
Whenever the Israeli army invaded my town, Beit Hanoun, my friends and I would run into the streets and throw stones toward the soldiers.
They fired bullets at us, while we had nothing but stones in our hands.
I knew that a stone was nothing compared to a weapon, but because it was my land… I felt that the stone was stronger than bullets.
That is why I never stopped.
We fought with whatever we had, throwing those stones as if we were defending everything we loved. 💔

@harukaawake @ForeverScept Thank you, it’s a step in the right direction at least.
And same to you in preserving your culture.

@MikeTappTweets Punishing people by opening migration centres where the voters support migration?
Hmmm?

This man is threatening me depending on how my constituency votes @EssexPoliceUK @metpoliceuk
Nigel Farage MP@Nigel_Farage
If you vote Reform you will not have an illegal migrant deportation facility in your area. We will hold migrants awaiting deportation in constituencies that vote Green instead. You get what you vote for.
English

@theshazben @BenGrahamUK Then you should perhaps start helping change minds in your area, remember if the area goes green then it’s what people want, if not then it’s clear.
English

@BenGrahamUK No. If I voted for Reform and ended up with Greens why should I have to have an illegal migrant camp in my area?
English

Reform’s latest proposal is certainly a bold way of framing local accountability.
The argument is simple: if voters choose parties with more liberal positions on immigration, then those communities should be prepared to shoulder the reality of those policies.
Do you think this is a good idea?

@Inmezzorarai @JohnCleese If the plan is to push Russia to even closer to China and create a potentially larger conflict then this is the way to go 🤷♂️

The funny thing about these clowns is that they think the US has experience in combat.
The only experience the US has is bombing third world nations. The last time the US actually fought somebody close to a peer was WWII. That hardly translates to experience today.

China now has around 300 J-20 stealth fighters and is ramping up production fast. But numbers don’t tell the full story... engine reliability still lags (more frequent maintenance) and PLAAF pilots have zero recent combat experience (last real war was 1979). Impressive on paper, but sustainment and human factors remain big gaps.
English

@Curdy_88 @PhenomAnon_X @felix375 Even if you believe that quite comical claim, hard not to notice they are still at war while the US surrendered to Iran in a month. And previously surrendered to Yemen after a while.

US and European artillery stocks were substantially drawn down by Ukraine aid from 2022-2025, creating real shortages in 155mm shells and other munitions that delayed deliveries and forced prioritization.
Production surges have since rebuilt inventories, with US output exceeding pre-war levels and Europe expanding capacity, so current stocks are recovering rather than remaining critically depleted as of mid-2026.
English

@Curdy_88 @PhenomAnon_X @felix375 European and American stocks for artillary are literally depleted cuz of supplying Ukraine dude, Ukraine is not soloing russia rn
