On 13.01.2026, based on specific intelligence, officers of CPF Churachandpur (under Imphal Customs Division, Customs Commissionerate Shillong) ,with assistance from Churachandpur District Police & 37 Assam Rifles, intercepted a Mahindra Bolero near Lamzang village, NH-102B. 220 soap cases containing 2,555 gms of suspected Heroin, valued at approx ₹17.88 crore (approx), were recovered. The contraband along with the vehicle was seized on 14.01.2026 under the NDPS Act, 1985. 1 person arrested. Further investigation is in progress. @cgstcusgau @cbic_india #nashamukhtbharat

The Special Secretary & Member (Customs), @cbic_india Shri Surjit Bhujabal inaugurated the ICEGATE-LPMS Integration at Integrated Check Post (ICP), Agartala on 12.01.2026 marking a significant milestone in CBIC’s journey toward digital transformation in cross-border trade & enabling real-time, bidirectional data exchange between ICEGATE and LPMS. 👉These enhancements will significantly reduce manual intervention, cut down costs and improve operational efficiency at ICPs. It ensures faster clearance of goods; automated workflows for import and export processes; secure and reliable data exchange and facilitate end-to-end intelligent and secure exchange of information at land ports as part of Coordinated Border Management. 👉The successful inauguration paves the way for ICEGATE-LPMS Integration at all the 15 ICPs for enhancing ease of doing business.

On 03-11-25, officers of LGBI-Airport Unit, Guwahati Customs Division, seized 12 packages containing 6.46 kg of a green-colored substance believed to be hydroponic weed (Cannabis/Marijuana) from the checked-in baggage of passengers traveling by flight FD-124 from DMK to GAU. Preliminary testing using a drug detection kit indicated the presence of Marijuana. The contraband, valued at ₹6.46 crore, was seized and two passengers were arrested.
