Lets settle the debate for God of War - Laufey once and for all shall we? 👇 Speaking as a big god of war fan and gamer in general btw.. So playing as a woman is not the issue here, the combat looks just fine to me as well, and it could integrate into the GOW story very well and introduce new mythologies and cool characters into the universe. The problem is, like with many other games, there are too much signs that they have lost touch with their target audience and fan base, and their decisions reflect that. (talking sword, talking cube, purple flames, cheesy dialogue etc) In my opinion we already were starting to go that way slowly in Ragnarok. We have seen this before, and it always fails. why? Because to me this shows that they no longer have the franchise's best interested at heart. They knew that these decisions were going to cause this discourse, and everyone who have seen the latest daredevil season knows they uglified the actress as well. When you have people being able to make a better character design with AI you also know they have done this on purpose, like we have seen many times before. Even if you were going this route for the game while keeping the God of War title, just by making that simple change to the design for both the lead protagonist and in my opinion also what seems to be the main villain 👇 There has always been sexy designs in the original trilogy, there was a threesome minigame with two hot girls for crying out loud. They would alleviate some of the backlash by going a different route on the designs.. NOW, Im not saying this is the way it should be, but it is just the way it is, and everyone knows it. Which in turn makes it even more clear that they don't have the games best interest at heart. We have seen these red flags before and it always turn out the same, so why should people expect this case to be different? I really hope we are all wrong though and that the game is great, as I am sure we all want more great GOW games. @CyberBaiAI Why post something so dumb "settle a debate" over a game that hasnt come out yet. there is a slight chance the game might be good that people will ignore the character is a female but if its the opposite no one will care about debating it.

@CyberBaiAI Yeah they're absolutely competent well made games and 100% can be enjoyed. I just find myself questioning if Kratos is even the same character anymore or it's even the same game for that matter. I see how we got here but not sure it was the right direction and now he's absent lol

Popular does not mean people will buy it or support it. take a look at these ratios and guess which one is for this reveal and which one is for Ragnarok reveal. Not exactly a great start I would say. Which again, could be totally avoided in the first place, but at least steps could have taken to reduce the negative reception, but the steps to do the opposite was made instead :/

Then after the launch it seemed plagued with issues so the "wait a few weeks" turned into "lost interest" and finally "never bought it". Just how it is, how to lose customer.

@CyberBaiAI God of War is not going to flop. TLOU 2 by sales statistics didn’t flop. HELL even Gears 5 didn’t technically flop because it got the same amount of sales as the last game and that was with Game Pass having it on launch.

@CyberBaiAI No need for paragraphs, real GoW died with the trilogy. Rest of the games were a downward slope and 2018 broke it forever. Nobody even remembers the latest 2D GoW game that came out about 4 months ago.

Well that's true, she might not mind.. We do not know that. And yes, beauty is subjective, but it is also objective to a certain degree. And it has been proven that players want objectively nice looking characters. So when the decision is made to not do this, knowing it will cause a lot of backlash, I fail to see the reason behind it.
