@arkhaminjustice The show is so strong overall that it’s hard to zero in on a specific episode - though the one with Chris and Paulie in the woods was notably fun

@CyborgMarc What was your favorite episode on your rewatch? I watched it for the first time recently, and I'd say that my favorite's probably Whitecaps.

Finished rewatching Sopranos for the first time since it aired and the ending is so much clearer to me than it initially was. **SPOILERS FOR THE SOPRANOS** There’s one line in episode 13 of season 6, when Bobby and Tony are fishing. Discussing death, Bobby says “in our line of work, it’s always out there. You probably don’t even hear it when it happens, right?” There’s another scene in the next episode which Silvio is at dinner with Gerry and when Gerry is shot, we see blood hit Sil’s face, with no sound and it takes a split second for Sil to even realize what just happened. With these scenes in mind, the cut to black which made lots of viewers consider whether or not their TV malfunctioned, makes it clear as day that Tony was killed. It’s also the kind of “ambiguous” which I like - the type where if you rewatch the story with knowledge of the ending in mind, you can see the markers for the answer. The ambiguity isn’t just an open question, it’s a question with an answer that can be found if you’re paying attention. The big problem with a lot of “mystery box” stories, is that often, the writers may not have an answer to the question themselves. Instead, they hide their inadequacy behind answering their own question, with another question: “what do YOU think happened?” The ending of Sopranos may seem like it does this, but the seeds for the answer are there. At the same time, it spares the audience from a horrific tragedy being the last thing they see. There’s enough slack for the people who want a “happily ever after” for the Soprano family to be able to believe it, if they don’t want to dig in to find the true answer. Overall, fantastic show - I definitely recommend giving it a rewatch and if you haven’t seen it, but read this whole post anyway, it’s still absolutely worth checking out. It’s funny, tragic and isn’t afraid to make it clear that some characters, despite being charming and in some ways, sympathetic, are fundamentally evil.

@The_Lord_Otter This comparison is about as relevant as saying “Baldur’s Gate 3 is cool, but it’s no Dark Souls” They share an overall genre, but aren’t directly comparable

@madcap412 Do you select a GPU or CPU because of exclusives? Or because the feature set and price point of the one you pick suits your needs? That is how hardware should compete.

I don't care what the internet thinks is "correct" or "modern" I 1000% buy gaming hardware SPECIFICALLY because game library NEVER bought hardware because of features and never will. I don't care about Gamepass If there are no compelling exclusives, I will NEVER buy it. SIMPLE

We understand the strategy even if we disagree with the decision - but should Sony reconsider its stance on not porting games like Ghost of Yōtei to PC? digitalfoundry.net/news/2026/05/s…

If software being available somewhere else will make an appreciable number of customers avoid your hardware, the hardware is the problem. It’s either not strong enough to provide the best experience, or not affordable enough to be the economic choice. Personally I DO think there are people who would choose to play on console regardless, for the simplicity alone - but if you or Sony believe that if exclusives go away, it’d make the console worthless… they need to make a better, or more affordable product.

@CyborgMarc @PeterP_1985 Well, that's not such a big number of players for Sony to really worry about anyway. But at least they will slowly but steadily get back on track and save their image, so players will see their games as true exclusives and a serious incentive to buy their console.

I'd prefer to play them on PC, but ultimately I'm a gamer and I'm not missing out because of loyalty to a box. Hence I got the PS5 Pro to accompany my PC for those exclusive games I do want to play. I'll continue to enjoy the ones that did make it to PC (like TLOU2 which I am currently playing for the first time). PS5 Pro is a great console, especially now with PSSR2, so whilst it might not be my preferred way, I'm sure those first party games will be great on it.

@Jose__80 @PeterP_1985 Fair enough, but I also think any PC game which is possible on PS5, should be ported so you can play it. My experience on PC is not made any more valuable by you not being able to play a good game which I like

“Stupid” is going a little far - I always did think he was killed, but also thought it was more ambiguous than it turned out to be. That said, it was also a unique way to end the show from a stylistic standpoint and I can understand why some people were confused. The only ones I’d ascribe stupidity to, are those who would say the show is bad and the ending makes no sense at all because of the cut to black. The “he may have died, but maybe not” people are missing a few details, but it’s a reasonable (if incorrect) takeaway on a single viewing.

This just proves that a high percentage of the audience is stupid. There's also the implication that Meadow walked in just in time to see it happen. And that the entire family--not just Tony--might've been killed. Maybe including Meadow, who would've been blocking the exit.

This makes sense, gaming is becoming a luxury past time. You have to create FOMO and give people an incentive to buy these expensive boxes, exclusives are the only way to do that, the big problem is Sony's AAA model is unsustainable. They can't compete with Nintendo's first party and third party support on Steam is more accessible and there are more options. Sony is very much stuck between a rock and a hard place, I actually think the PS6 handheld is more important for their growth than a home console.

@MikaDima1 @Dee_Batch How much money do you think 1% of a multi-billion dollar company is? 1% sounds low, but 1% of $1 billion is $10 million How many developers at PlayStation studios can be paid with that amount of money?

@JoeyPWilliams They’re going to squeeze them for more money and more PS studios will be on the chopping block if their games don’t perform. More studio closures, ultimately means fewer games for the fanboys to play too.

@CyborgMarc I'm curious, how much of the $1.5 billion in profit would you speculate was from Helldivers 2 compared to the others? Because I came across this article that revealed that the PC ports for their single-player games from 2021 to 2023 made just $300 million across those 3 years

If exclusives are the only reason people buy your hardware - your hardware isn’t worth buying Losing 30% on games sold on PC, is still more money than those people never buying those games at all And a person who plays on PC isn’t going to suddenly buy all their 3rd party games on PlayStation, even if they do pick one up for the odd exclusive

@CyborgMarc I disagree. The entire point of their exclusives is to give people a reason to buy the console. If people abandon the console and just opt for pc, ps loses 30% of their sales on pc, and they also lose 30% sales from 3rd parties.

@CyborgMarc 15 years ago they did but now is much different much easier to port games. Valve's newest game Deadlock is an exclusive btw. More people buy "your" game but most of PlayStation's revenue came from 3rd party so they want gamers to spend on PSN not somewhere else.

@Yaboynosworc Companies don’t always make the right decision And if a person who play on PC buys a PS5 for the exclusives, they’re not going to suddenly decide to buy all their multiplatform games there too - they’ll maybe buy 1-2 games a year

@CyborgMarc It's not about me, it's what Sony thinks is best for them and getting more people into their ecosystem is what's best for them. They make their money off every game sold from their store, exclusives bring people in.
