I’ve a seen many post on social media that in our Kmer hospitals some patients alter their drips to flow faster This is very dangerous because certain medications can only be given at a specific rate I was on call in Mutengene, a woman with stroke was started on a medication that had to flow over 24hrs to reduce the pressure inside her skull Her husband felt this was not going fast enough despite repeated assurances from the team. While the nurses were busy administering medication to other patients, he opened the drip to go faster and that’s how he lost his wife. It’s sad because he only wanted his wife to get better but took advice from quartier specialist over his doctor Always leave the professionals to administer your medications in the hospital.

A young woman identified as Stavincia Maku has died following childbirth complications in Manjo, located in the Littoral Region of Cameroon. According to information gathered, the incident occurred in recent days after the victim, a married woman residing in Manjo, went into labour. Due to complications linked to a preterm pregnancy, medical personnel reportedly opted for a caesarean section (C-section). Sources indicate that although the procedure was carried out, Stavincia Maku passed away shortly after, leaving behind a newborn baby who has been placed in an incubator for specialised care. The deceased’s body has been deposited at a local morgue. Family members of the late Stavincia Maku are said to be based in Foumbot, in the West Region, while she had been living in Manjo with her husband following her marriage. The circumstances surrounding her death have raised renewed concerns over maternal health care and emergency obstetric services. #MMINews
