In the summer @WestYorkshireCA toured Talking Transport meetings to introduce the Local Transport Plan. In July, Dewsbury residents had plenty of questions - particularly about the Spen Ringway.

@skeuomorphology @theTRUpgrade’s diversion for cycles has always been to ride over Deighton Road.
But at least the towpath should be finished soon…

Birkby-Bradley Greenway closure by Transpennine Route Upgrade has been extended again until 31/03/2026

Leeds Road cycle lane opposite junction of Deighton Lane to be suspended from 23/11/2025 until 17/07/2026 Riders are advised to use the main highway Birkby Bradley Greenway at Deighton station will remain closed until 31/10/2025

@bellerby1963 @KirkleesCouncil There will be questionably designed, discontinuous shared-use footway on the Spen baths side of the road and a 2-way dedicated cycle track on the opposite side.

@CycleKirklees @KirkleesCouncil not sure I’d want to navigate this new cycle lane/junction outside Spenborough pool 🤔. Will I also be able to cycle on the path do you know ?

All smiles on the Spen Valley Greenway in #WestYorkshire as @kimleadbeater MP cut a ribbon on a new improved section, and local people tried out the smoother surface, better access ramps and new lighting! Thanks @WestYorkshireCA and @KirkleesCouncil
