A controversial new study claims that the Great Pyramid of Giza may be tens of thousands of years older than traditionally accepted sparking intense debate among archaeologists historians and the public. Italian engineer Alberto Donini has proposed that the Great Pyramid could date back as far as approximately 20 000 BCE. Using a technique he developed called the Relative Erosion Method (REM) Donini analyzed erosion patterns on the limestone blocks of the monument. He compared heavily weathered surfaces that have been exposed since construction with adjacent areas that were protected by outer casing stones until they were removed around 1303 AD. Based on these measurements he estimates the pyramid may be roughly 25 000 years old placing its construction in the late Paleolithic period long before the rise of dynastic Egypt. If confirmed this timeline would dramatically rewrite the history of ancient Egyptian civilization. However mainstream archaeologists and geologists have expressed strong skepticism. They argue that erosion rates are highly unreliable for dating purposes because Egypts climate has fluctuated dramatically over millennia shifting between wetter periods and extreme desert conditions. This variability makes it impossible to assume a constant rate of weathering. Decades of established archaeological evidence including radiocarbon dating of organic materials in the mortar associated tombs worker villages and pottery strongly support the conventional construction date of around 2500 BCE during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu. The study remains preliminary and has not undergone formal peer review. While it has captured widespread public interest experts caution that its conclusions rely on assumptions that conflict with the broader body of scientific evidence. [Donini A. Lindsey Graham came from humble beginnings and became one of the most powerful lawmakers in the most powerful nation on Earth. His story was a fundamentally American one. Early in my Senate tenure, I remember getting into a shouting match with Lindsey about a Ukraine funding bill at lunch and then learning the very next day that he was pushing rail legislation I really cared about behind the scenes. That was Lindsey Graham. He fought like hell for the things he believed in, and he was just as willing to go to bat for you when it counted. Lindsey had the best sense of humor in the Senate. He loved the game of politics. He was constantly asking which races were up and down, and how he could help. As he liked to say, “I don't care if you're an isolationist or a religious fanatic, so long as you have an R next to your name, I want you to win.” We certainly had our disagreements. But I couldn't help but like him. A one of a kind figure in our politics. I'll be praying for him and his family.

I’m in Israel for a seminar as well as a family celebration. The people here have an undefeatable determination to survive.  That is their nearly 4,000 year history.  Many nations have grown weak and have lost their will to fight for victory or even ensure their own security.  The Israelis have not. They’re civilian warriors. They know every war is do or die. It is true that they cannot and will not be subservient to any country that is not aligned with their ethos, let alone enemies who seek diplomatic victories through alliances and international organizations.
