@HurwitzSports I think the concern is that you've got three good boundary/deep threat WRs if Brown is here + Williams, who also plays on the sideline. There's nobody in the middle of the field, no slot.

I get why Boutte’s name gets thrown around in trade talks, but I think moving on from him isn’t the best outcome. He’s continued to get better each season and has unlocked a great chemistry with Drake Maye. 2023: 2 rec, 19 yds, 0 TDs 2024: 43 rec, 589 yds, 3 TDs 2025: 33 rec, 551 yds, 6 TD

@floydianship They are 1/1 and even if it's not one of the scenarios I want theres a good chance it still works out down the road. The only pick I didnt LOVE last year was Woodson I was indifferent but thought he might be a round to early. He was great lol but fun to be excited draft night lol

A lot of Pats fans all over the place on what AJ Brown is worth in a trade and what he brings but it's not nearly as bad as the same Eagles fans that can't decide if Brown is a bum, if he's cooked or if he's worth 3 1st round picks depending on the day

@ezlazar I 99% agree. Only argument is you might be trading a WR in a deal for AJ. Plus Hollins Boutte and Pop all pending PA - expensive to resign potentially and already 2 highly paid Wrs...you draft one this year and have them and Kyle for cheap while top 2 take up most of receiver $$

Anything is possible. But I just don't see them signing Doubs, trading a high 2027 pick for Brown, and drafting a wide receiver early this year. Just a lot to invest in one position with a full room in '26.

@ezlazar I couldn’t disagree more getting brown shouldn’t change their plans at all they only have 2 real WRs signed past this year and brown would make it a whopping 3 signed for 2027 so absolutely they can draft a wr early in this draft

A.J. Brown reportedly is “likely” to land in New England, which got me thinking about the presumed return. The #Patriots lose some leverage with this report, meaning the price might be higher than it otherwise might be — call it a 2027 2nd? I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a 2027 3rd + DeMario Douglas/Kyle Williams.

I genuinely don’t see this becoming much of an issue. If he were to only get five targets per game, they’d be of much higher quality — he’ll be asked to move more in NE than he was in PHI. The QB is slightly better, too.

@KeaganStiefel I am not sure how you analyze “higher quality” jump balls but a malcontent on a good team getting lots of targets is highly unlikely to be making a distinction. When you watched Maye fumbling & being sacked in the playoffs, you really thought an aging, malcontent X can fix this?
