I’d like to thank @D5Kitchen for this beautiful couch. It will have a happy home in my new office at City Hall. I’m certain that, if this couch could talk, it would have great stories to share.

Due to yesterday’s heavy rains & lack of drying conditions since, Zilker Park is saturated & unable to support the Trail of Lights without posing safety risks & park damages. The City of Austin has closed the park & cancelled tonight’s Trail of Lights. ⁣

Parking reductions are important and were part of the resolution regarding changes to compatibility that will come back to Council in the fall. Also VMU reduces parking requirements and the newVMU2 reduces parking requirements even more along transit lines (by 60 percent)
Austin Transit Blog@atxtransitblog

before anyone says "the new stuff won't be affordable I'm a big dumb baby!!" I would invite you to consider VMU, which includes subsidized apartments and could be built on every lot on Guadalupe in Hyde Park if the NIMBY Council Members would vote to reduce parking/compatibility.
