We do not say "crescent" when ordering a "croissant". You making a point about it, actually, means you have no real argument or are just being pissy. My point is no one uses any of the hundreds of African scripts or languages in official documents. The common denominator is French or English; if it were not, communication would be slow or impossible. Maps are predominantly printed in English for a reason. The point being that hundreds of local languages and dialects is great history but poor politics to push and few maps in any of these scripts probably exist. ultimately one language is best.
