@AU5T0N @pieceofjuno & like to a certain level of ppl crave community and acceptance by said community esp if they hold some identity/ background/experience that they fear may exclude them from it, so they double down on the perceived community values & don’t “rock the boat” yknow?

@AU5T0N @pieceofjuno in my experience growing up north side of Phoenix & next to but not in Scottsdale - it doesn’t really matter what the actual financial situation someone’s family is in, they will feel/act wealthy & elite & above anyone not on their perceived “level”

@D998891234 @pieceofjuno i understand you but that’s a minority imo. i think a lot of immigrants have nuanced options on immigration where as with the whites ™ it’s a culture war, like everything.

@AU5T0N @pieceofjuno there is also always classism + racism + colorism involved. Both from immigrants and white racists. like republican immigrants & why they vote for & vocally support anti immigration efforts is a v nuanced topic (too nuanced for this site) but it does happen

@AU5T0N @pieceofjuno what i am saying is i know actual immigrants who hold the same opinions as white republicans. one friend who’s first gen & parents fit that category say it stems from assimilation + wanting proximity to power via white American-ness; therefore holding the same opinions
