🚨 Environmental crisis in Nelson Mandela Bay 🚨 Thousands of juvenile fish have died in the Swartkops River following a devastating sewage spill and this disaster could have been prevented. The DA has formally called for an urgent investigation into multiple sewage spills from the Motherwell and Markman canals, after oversight inspections found no evidence of promised mitigation measures. This is not just a failure of infrastructure it’s a failure of accountability. We are demanding: ✔️ A full investigation by the Eastern Cape Government ✔️ Immediate action to stop ongoing pollution ✔️ Accountability for delays that led to this ecological disaster ✔️ The urgent reconvening of the River Monitoring Committee 💙 The DA will continue to fight for clean water, functional infrastructure, and a government that works for the people of Nelson Mandela Bay. #GetNMBWorking

The DA calls for the Minister of Finance to cut the fuel levy by 50% to give South Africans immediate relief from the massive price hike on the way. When fuel goes up, everything goes up – transport, food, and the cost of living for every household.

⛽ *FUEL PRICE SHOCK IS HITTING YOU FIRST* The DA is calling for a 50% cut to the RAF Levy and General Fuel Levy, two taxes applied to every litre of fuel, to bring immediate relief to South Africans. This is a practical step the government can take right now to reduce the pressure of rising fuel prices and the impact it will have on costs, from transport to food prices and everyday expenses. Government may not control global fuel prices, but it can cut the taxes that drive up the cost.
