Credit Chors at it yet again! The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) in Warangal was envisioned and executed under the leadership of former Chief Minister KCR to transform Warangal once again into a thriving textile hub. The foundation stone for KMTP was laid in 2017. Five years later, the Central Government emulated the project and introduced the PM MITRA scheme. The contribution of the BJP-led Centre to this project has been minimal. Some key aspects of KMTP👇 ➡️ Thousands of Warangal weavers earlier migrated to Surat, Solapur, and Bhiwandi for work. KMTP aimed to reverse this trend and revive the local textile economy. ➡️ The BRS government developed KMTP as India’s largest textile park under the ‘Farm to Fashion’ model to transform Warangal like Surat and Tiruppur. ➡️ Despite two years of COVID setbacks, major units like Kitex, Youngone, and Ganesha reached advanced stages. ➡️ The park is expected to create 25,000–40,000 direct jobs and nearly double that through indirect employment. Importantly, the PM MITRA scheme was introduced years after KMTP, clearly drawing inspiration from Telangana’s model. It is a matter of pride that Kakatiya Mega Textile Park now stands as a national benchmark. Claiming credit for a visionary initiative conceptualized and executed by the BRS government, under former CM KCR and former minister KTR, is simply unfair and misleading. As KCR garu often says ' మందికి పుట్టిన బిడ్డలను మా బిడ్డలు అని చెప్పుకోవడం' సిగ్గుచేటు.
