People don’t seem to understand what’s going on with the Halo: Campaign Evolved split-screen co-op situation and are posting hot takes that are completely wrong. This is what’s really going on, but I’m sure people will ignore it and just reply with more console warring nonsense.
Halo Studios just put out their FAQ, and if you want to play local couch co-op on a PS5, both players are required to have an active PlayStation Plus subscription alongside a linked Microsoft account. On Xbox, local split-screen requires absolutely zero paid subscriptions. You just need a second free Microsoft account and you're good to go.
The reason Microsoft accounts are required comes down to how cross-progression works. PlayStation and Xbox have separate backend databases that don't talk to each other. Sony’s servers only track your PSN ID and trophies, while Microsoft’s servers handle your Gamertag and achievements. If you want your campaign progress to carry over seamlessly between a PS5, Xbox, and PC, the game needs a universal anchor to tie that data to. That’s what the Microsoft account does. It acts as the master profile that stores your exact checklist of completed missions and mid-mission checkpoints.
When you play co-op, the cloud save synchronization handles the transition back to your solo game smoothly. Because the game natively routes everything through Microsoft's backend, every checkpoint you hit or mission you finish during co-op is instantly stamped onto your linked Microsoft profile in real time. In the old days of split-screen, only Player 1 saved their game, and Player 2 lost everything when the console turned off. With this modern setup, because both players are logged into their own distinct Microsoft accounts, the server updates the campaign state for both profiles simultaneously.
When you boot up the game later by yourself for a single-player session, whether you're still on your PS5 or hopping over to a PC, the game pings Microsoft's servers, checks your account's latest timestamp, and downloads that exact progress. You can pick up right where you and your buddy left off. Essentially, the universal account requirement is a technical necessity to make cross-progression work across rival platforms, even if the paid subscription requirements layered on top of it are a completely separate headache.
To be absolutely clear, the paid restriction is entirely a Sony requirement, not a Microsoft decision. Xbox doesn't charge for local split-screen on their own hardware, and they don't force a subscription for it on PC either, so they have zero reason to suddenly demand it for PlayStation users. Besides, Microsoft doesn't make a single dime from PS+ subscriptions; 100% of that money goes straight into Sony’s pockets.
Instead, this comes down to how Sony handles backend data control when dealing with a direct competitor. Because Halo natively routes cross-progression, achievements, and player profiles directly through Microsoft's servers, Sony views even a local, same-console split-screen session as an outbound data transfer hitting a rival network. If this were a standard third-party game routing data to an independent publisher's server, Sony likely wouldn't care. But because the data is heading straight to Microsoft’s backend, Sony has incredibly rigid, paranoid rules about how PSN user data interacts with their biggest rival. By forcing that second player to have a paid PS+ account, Sony is putting a financial toll on the data bridge simply because that user's information is leaving the PlayStation wall.
At the end of the day, it's not Microsoft forcing a paywall on their own game. It's Sony enforcing their own strict data policies because they want a financial gate on anything interacting with a direct competitor's network.

Jason Momoa didn't start filming for Lobo until "roughly 2 months" into Supergirl. He says in another interview "I didn't have many days on set".
Yet he's in all the marketing. This is the same as Supergirl in her costume. They know what people want, they put it in marketing. Just not in the movies.

@NerosCinema Because they know people want the orginals back fully working easy win. They know we are all so stupid for paying it.

She is objectively a bigger walking PR disaster for a movie than Rachel Zegler ever was but there isnt nearly as much backlash
Difficult to argue that pure racism isn't a factor

How to kill Supergirl in one step

Early reviews are in for Supergirl and they're saying all the quiet parts out loud:
Mike Ryan: “SUPERGIRL...looks and plays more like a Mad Max movie, with dirty worlds, gross villains and a self destructive hero.” 🤮
The Mary Sue: “SUPERGIRL is…messy and…Kara isn’t her cousin...in every way.” 🤮
CineXpress: “SUPERGIRL is ...more serious and emotionally heavier in tone…evokes Guardians of the Galaxy, with a dash of Mad Max: Fury Road and a bit of Thor: The Dark World. 🤮
Here’s the thing: NONE OF THIS MAKES ME WANT TO PAY FOR IT.
“Fury Road” was man-hating, female empowerment garbage and “Thor 2” just sucked in every way possible.
Put it all together and I know I’m right to skip it.
