@testdrivenio Having the same debate at work this week. It seems like Github's Dependabot will only check for library vulnerabilities if they're explicitly listed in a manifest: setup.py, requirements.txt, etc.

Python tip: Don't use pip freeze > requirements.txt. You'll end up with dozens of dependencies you didn't purposefully install and don't know what they do. Instead, add the requirement manually in requirements.txt. Compare the two 👇
