Yesterday, we celebrated the unveiling of a portrait of Judge Corrine Sparks. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she led a groundbreaking career, having become the first African Nova Scotian judge appointed to the judiciary and the first African-Canadian woman to serve on the bench.

This year DBLSA is selling Black History Month T-Shirts. Our theme this year is "Listen, Learn, Change." This theme was chosen to encourage all of us to listen to the voices of the Black community, to learn from what has been said and to change and do better in our daily lives.
