My Inner City Rejuvenation Plan Policy was approved by Council during the 2017/18.
This is one of the 154 properties awarded the private sector.
On my return after the upcoming LGE, this policy is going to be brought back as a matter of urgency.

An abandoned, hijacked CBD building turned into a fully let student housing success story👏💪 Remington House, situated on Nugget Street in Johannesburg, has been transformed into a green-certified mixed-use building with affordable rental units and is fully let. The office block was previously abandoned and later hijacked. Today, she’s a student accommodation success story. Details of the building: • Building area: 7 191m2 • 133 bachelor apartments • 5 ground-floor retail shops • 14 parking bays • Amenities: study centre and gym • EDGE results: Energy 27.81%; Water 22.40%; Materials (embodied carbon) 51.00% • Resource systems: Centralised heat pumps; solar installation; borehole and filtration; LED lighting; low-flow fixtures; dual-flush toilets; optimised façade glazing So many buildings have been hijacked in this street; one can only hope that more can be saved. This conversion was made possible by TUHF, for which I give huge kudos. We would love to see more of this.

One of my father's biggest shortcomings was that he didn't know how to convert value into money.
He mentored boys, taught ppl how to drive, took in his sister's kids, bred greyhounds, owned football teams, coached football, was a hunter, hosted boys at our home to watch movies & fed people's children.
He added a lot of value, but was never taught how to monetize it. It's one of the mistakes I've made for years & have been looking to fix in the last 3 years or so.
I don't want to get paid in "Thank You", "Makwande", "unoBuntu" & "God Will Bless You"... I want to get paid in value. And the real value I want needs money to be accessed.
Most poor ppl create a lot of value but don't know how to monetize it.
Like a housewife who gets no money, while a cleaner, cook, nanny, laundry lady all get paid.
