@Theholisticpsyc At 37 having discovered your work, I called my dad out for gas lighting me. I told him it wasn't acceptable. He hung up the phone. My parents haven't spoken to me since. That was Christmas Eve. It's hurtful, but time for me to take control & break the pattern. The work is ongoing

Few people heard an apology from a parent. This is why we struggle with accountability. We view doing something hurtful and apologizing as a weakness. Rather than an opportunity to connect. Instead, we learned to go on as if nothing happened.

Gutted Dress Circle Antics is ending for now but so grateful for the opportunities writing for DCA has brought me. Through DCA, my writing & confidence has grown & thrived. DCA was the first place to give me a chance & take my writing seriously; for that I’m eternally grateful ❤️
