Snuck out to the river for a couple hours today and this handsome Brown Trout decided to make my day - safely released to fight another day.

My son enjoyed catching these beautiful little Brook Trout yesterday - look carefully and you’ll see the blue haloes around this one’s red spots. Some Bighorns came to see what we were up to.

The trout weren’t biting on the river today, but this big Whitefish decided to give it a go - expertly netted by my son, Decker.

Never a bad day on the water when I’m fly fishing with my best buddy.

A buddy knew we were fishing the Red today and thought he’d put on a show for us.

This bull trout hit my streamer just as we were losing our last bit of daylight this evening. My son had fun landing him for me. “Dad, I can’t see him!”

Proud of how my boy is learning to work the rivers. One day, he will be a very good fly fisherman.
