It's official. 👏1st round draft pick @Monee__11 has signed with Los Angeles for the inaugural season of the WPBL.

Buck Leonard, first baseman of the Homestead Grays, died #OTD in 1997. A 13-time All-Star and .346 career hitter, he won two batting titles and also led the league in homers three times. Part of three World Series winners, he was elected to the #HallofFame in 1972. @nlbmprez

Jimmy Williams, ⁦@DCGrays⁩ coach who spent many years playing ball in the Dodgers farm system and Mexico and Japan, was honored for his lifetime in the game by the Mid Atlantic Scouts Association

Under the late, great 𝗧𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿, who was dedicated to building a winner, Mike Rizzo and his deputies 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗯𝗮, 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗘𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘇, 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝗻𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝗣𝘂𝗴𝗹𝗶𝗮 and 𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗕𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗼 built teams full of elite players and turned a perennial cellar dweller into a 4-time NL East winner and a World Series Champion. The @Nationals should honor Mike Rizzo with a spot in the Nationals Ring of Honor early in the 2026 season.
