On 11.05.2026, The Government of West Bengal republishes the GOI Notification dated 16.06.2025 for Intent to conduct Census 2027. It is the first step towards conduct of Census 2027 in the state of West Bengal. #Census2027

Completed my self enumeration. Today marks the beginning of the first phase of Census 2027, relating to house listing and housing operations. This census is the first time data collection is being done through digital means. It also empowers the people of India to self-enumerate their household details. I appeal to the people of India to self-enumerate their household details themselves and participate in the Census process.

President Droupadi Murmu participated in the self-enumeration initiative of the Government of India for Census 2027 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This Census is being conducted in digital mode for the first time. The President self-enumerated her household details in the portal (se.census.gov.in) in the presence of Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India Shri Mritunjay Kumar Narayan and other senior officials.

Today, on 30/01/26 on the occasion of Martyrs' Day, Directorate of Census Operations, West Bengal, paid heartfelt tribute to the immortal martyrs who sacrificed their lives in India's freedom struggle. A two-minute silence was observed at 11:00 am in their honor. #CensusIndia2027

Notification of questionnaire of Phase I of Census of India 2027 - Houselisting & Housing Census has been issued. Notification for the Phase I of Census of India 2027 i.e. Houselisting & Housing Census (HLO) has been issued. Houselisting operations will be conducted between 1 April 2026 and 30 September 2026 across all States and Union Territories, during a 30-day period specified by each State/UT. Provision for self-enumeration will be available for a period of 15 days prior to the commencement of house-to-house houselisting, as per the schedule notified by each State/UT. भारत की जनगणना 2027 के प्रथम चरण - मकानसूचीकरण और मकानों की गणना (HLO) हेतु अधिसूचना जारी। मकानसूचीकरण का कार्य 1 अप्रैल 2026 से 30 सितंबर 2026 के बीच सभी राज्यों एवं संघ राज्यक्षेत्रों में, प्रत्येक राज्य/संघ राज्यक्षेत्र द्वारा विनिर्दिष्ट 30 दिनों की अवधि में किया जाएगा। घर-घर मकानसूचीकरण शुरू होने से पहले प्रत्येक राज्य/संघ राज्यक्षेत्र द्वारा अधिसूचित कार्यक्रम के अनुसार 15 दिनों की अवधि के लिए 'स्व-गणना' (Self-Enumeration) का विकल्प भी उपलब्ध होगा। #Census2027 @HMOIndia @PIB_India @PIBHomeAffairs
