Damon Lindelof is a real Green Lantern OG. The show is in good hands with him and the full writing team. I predict that Lanterns will end up being the best DC Studios project in all of 2026.

I was sloppy and careless with my words, ironic considering care so much about Hal, John and the entire Corps. I think my favourite thing about Morrison is that for every time Alan Moore says that superhero fans are imbecile children, Grant does the opposite and explains why being a pure-of-heart, optimistic fan of fantasy stories is a worthwhile thing to be proud of.

Yeah that's true, Moore does live in my head rent free sadly. I suppose I find it hard to reconcile that one of the greatest comic book writers (who used to champion the medium) walked away from it a long time ago mostly out of bitterness. I think he's amazingly talented and it just upsets me sometimes how acerbic he can be in his (mostly fair) critiques of fans.

Basically, yeah. But in fairness, Grant correctly notes that Lindelof makes these jokes in an effort to make himself seem less nerdy and disassociate from the childishness of it all. Which IMO is a fair critique. It's a tacit admittance by Lindelof part of the larger problem of writers being subtly ashamed that superhero stories aren't "grown-up" enough.

Before people judge this fully, these comments are mostly directed toward Damon Lindelof calling the green "stupid". Grant is known for going pretty wild in the newsletter they write, giving unabashed (and often off the cuff) thoughts on various buts of pop culture news.
