CSB-CTRTI participated in the 3-days Agrotech Krishi Mela organised by Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi from 14/03/26-16/03/26. The stall attracted the attention of Students, farmers, women to gain information on Sericulture and Silk products. @csbmot @TexMinIndia

On 16.03.26, the 77th Research Council Meeting was conducted at CSB–CTRTI, Ranchi, under the chairmanship of Dr. S. Balasaraswathi, Director, CSB-CTRTI, Ranchi. A total of 17 new concept notes were presented, of which 10 were presented by the newly recruited scientists. @csbmot

On 11.03.26, Smt. Garima Singh, IAS, Director DoS Jharkhand & Managing Director, Jharcraft, visited CSB-CTRTI, Ranchi. During her visit, she attended a workshop organized by the institute and also visited the museum and various laboratories of CTRTI Ranchi. @csbmot @TexMinIndia

On 08.03.26, CSB–CTRTI, Ranchi showcased a stall on “Activities from Soil to Silk” during the Kisan Mela cum Krishi Pradarshani organized by ICAR–NISA, Namkum Students, farmers and officials visited the stall and gathered valuable inputs on tasar sericulture.@csbmot @TexMinIndia

Scientists from CSB–CTRTI, Ranchi participated in the National Seminar on “ Seri Genetic Resources Conservation: Challenges, Innovations & Future Pathways ” organized by CSB-CSGRC, Hosur on 06 March 2026. @csbmot @TexMinIndia

On 02.03.26, on the occasion of Swachhata Pakhwada, the Swachhata Pledge was administered to all officials of CSB–CTRTI, Ranchi. On this occasion, a Selfie Booth to promote awareness on cleanliness was also inaugurated by Dr. S. Balasaraswathi, Director, CSB–CTRTI, Ranchi.

For National Science Day, CTRTI, Ranchi organised exposure visits for Vidya Mandir Public School and Raj International School students on 27th & 28th Feb, 2026 respectively. Students gained valuable insights on Tasar from Director, Dr. S. Balasaraswathi and other scientists

CSB-CTRTI participated in Day 1 of Kisan Mela at Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (26.02.2026). A stall showcasing Tasar technologies & value-added products was set up where Ms. Keesam Manasa, Scientist-B, and team interacted and briefed about it with farmers, youth & students.

CSB-Regional Sericulture Research Station, Bhandara, Maharashtra, subunit of the CSB-Central Tasar Research & Training Institute, Ranchi organized a Tasar Resham Krishi Mela on 25.02.2026 at Bhandara. More than 200 participants, including guests, farmers attended the program

An Exposure visit cum training programme for 15 farmers of Uttar Pradesh has commenced at the CSB-CTRTI Ranchi. The five-day programme (24–28 February 2026) is designed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and practical skills in scientific tasar sericulture. @csbmot @TexMinIndia

During his Jharkhand visit (20-21.02.2026) Hon'ble Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, reviewed progress in the textile & sericulture sectors. He interacted with scientists of the Central Silk Board and officials from DOS, Handloom & Handicrafts (WSC), deliberating on regional coordination and sectoral growth. The discussions underscored the vast potential of sericulture, particularly tasar, and reaffirmed CSB’s commitment to strengthening the sector in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The visit was effectively coordinated by Dr. Jay Prakash Pandey & Dr. Shantakar Giri.

Hon'ble Union Minister Shri Giriraj Singh reviewed the progress of the textile and silk sector and various developmental initiatives in Ranchi. आज रांची में वस्त्र एवं रेशम क्षेत्र की प्रगति तथा विकासात्मक पहलों की समीक्षा की। Central Silk Board के वैज्ञानिकों, डीओएस, हैंडलूम एवं हस्तशिल्प (डब्ल्यूएससी) के अधिकारियों के साथ सार्थक बैठक आयोजित हुई, जिसमें क्षेत्रीय समन्वय एवं सुदृढ़ीकरण के विषयों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई।
