@MustaphaPooh @PScully13 You’ve started a debate then moved the goalposts on the topic. You can’t rank players in a position that by your own admission, teams don’t use the spot in the same way. Let’s agree the game and position is utilised differently now 👍.

@DDourley @PScully13 Well the way I view it is like football, two different teams play a 2 man midfield, one team play an attacking and holding midfielder and the other play 2 box to box midfielders. All 4 of those players are still midfielders and can be compared on similarities and differences

Had a debate about top 5 13s in the competition the other day with a buddy of mine, Asiata didn’t make the top 5.
No particular order but Minichella, Ben Currie, Liu, Partington, Ellis all ahead of him for me, he’s in the conversation with Klemmer and Palasia for the 6/7/8 spot

John Asiata is just a different gravy isn’t he? Best 13 in the competition by a country mile. Just needs to stay fit. And we’re a better side without Aiden Sezer. And Jake Arthur is better without him. Who would of thought 🙋♂️🙋♂️

@DDourley @PScully13 Personally hate that take as I’ve seen it a few times now and it doesn’t make sense to me. The role of a 13 has changed a lot over the years and even team by team, it’s definitely an extra forward but with better hands than a prop and more physicality than a back rower

@Finley30441129 Did he not miss challenge cup final a few years back? I support neither teams… consistency is the issue not individual players. The fact that it’s even an issue shows the state the game is in. Exact type of tackles most RL fans moan aren’t in the game anymore.

@MustaphaPooh None of them are loose forwards, they’re an extra forward. Asiata at a stretch with his passing game. @PScully13 Farrell sinfield o’loughlin proper 13’s. All mentioned do a job but none can do the tough stuff and play like a 6 at the same time. Run/pass/tackle/kick/lead.

@WiganFans_RL To be fair it didn’t look a try on TV live. Although he did ground it. Also, the VR essentially give a forward pass for Mays no try. I’m a fan of neither. Refereeing is awful but the rules don’t help. The “on field decision” is a kop out for both ref and VR.

@paulredhead1 @SuperLeague Agree, Cas and Wigan could both be severely affected by that come the end of the season. Cas could either be dragged into something they don’t want to or miss out on something which would make it an amazing season. Wigan could lose potentially 1st place
